Campus Minigrid Study for Town of La Pointe

muGrid performed an initial feasibility study for a resilient microgrid at a set of 3-5 municipal facilities in the town, located on remote and vulnerable Madeline Island. The facilities considered were the town hall, health clinic, library, ferry terminal, and school. We studied solar PV, battery energy storage, utility infrastructure upgrade requirements, and the incorporation of existing fossil fuel generators already onsite. This study was funded by WI OEI. muGrid is presently assisting the town in securing grant funding to implement this microgrid, and potentially also one at the emergency services building as well.
